About the author and how to contact

I'm a New Zealand writer of historical fiction and contemporary short stories. Southern Gold and sequel Threads of Gold are set in my home-town, Dunedin, Otago.  Although I was born and raised less than five kilometers from Maclaggan Street where these stories are set, I was forbidden by my mother to go there. This naturally piqued my curiosity, but it wasn't until 2015 that I decided to dig deep and discover the secrets of this notorious area and its close-knit, diverse communities.

In 2016, Creative NZ's manuscript assessment award started me on my novel-writing journey.

Although I'll always be a Southerner, my home base is now at the other end of New Zealand, in the northern coastal settlement of Mangawhai.

For support and encouragement, I'm a member of the NZ Society of Authors, International Writers Workshop Inc, and Historical Novel Society Australasia.
